Touring Kos Town

Another day in Kos paradise, Kali-mera (Good morning). Mike and Monica arrive later tonight.

A Turkish youth football team (soccer) strolled by and threw us a pose. Hello boys.

Jenée caught me "at work" doing our last blog. What a study of concentration! Or am I snoozing? Tough to tell.

Jungle is in there somewhere, tied to the quay in front of the Fortress of Kos. We'll check out the 600 year old fortress later.

There's Jungle, in the middle of this shot.

My darling bride and I take a stroll before dinner. Mike and Monica are due in any minute.

They made it. They went cruise ship off Italy to train to bus to plane in to another plane in Athens to taxi to Jungle. That's traveling! They are now in front of Hippokrates Plane Tree - 2400 years old. (yes, that Hipoocrates of the Hippocratic oath; to save lives, to teach, to protect, to write with handwriting that is impossible to decipher ...). That guy.

Mike and his big sister Jenée are now inside the fort.

The new marina is behind Jenée. We'll be there later in the week.

This is the footbridge used to access the fort. Monica read that until early in the 20th century, the street below was once a water way (moat) connecting sea to harbor and protecting the fort with water all around.

Wonderful views all around the harbor.

Nice view of Jungle from above ...

... and of Kos Harbor.

Just off the harbor, 5 miles away is Turkey. There you will find a similar fortress which together gave the powers the ability to control the sea lanes.

Family photo.

This is one big fortress. Turns out there is an older fortress inside the bigger one. The old fort also has moats, etc.

Good exercise.

Remnants from the Knights who ressurected this fortress.

MeanWhile Monica is holding down the fort. I'm killing me again, holding down the fort! How do I do it!? I don't know.

Makes you thirsty with all that walking around antiquity.

Having lunch amount 2500 year old ruins. These ruins pre-date the Greeks.

Not all is well in the Greek Islands. Tragedy strikes as the gods look unfavorably upon me. Alas, why do they beseech me?

Always a photo opportunity waiting to happen.

I dig these streets, Mike too.

And we dig our womens.

Hey Mike, where are the ladies? One guess. Here they come now. Lets m,ove along.

So much shopping, so little time!

Nice update, as usual. Glad you have company with you now to assist you on your 'difficult tasks' :).

How do the Greek Big Mac's taste? Such a tragedy. I am being sarcastic, not Hippocratic. Okay, enough with the bad puns. Until next time, happy sailing.
