Sailing to Emborios

Well it's a new day and as my friend Demetris likes to say, "this definitely doesn't suck"

Hey Mike, is that's the last cold diet coke? Why yes Jim, yes it is. Did you want some? No, no, enjoy. Really, great guy, just a little funny looking. But he's Jenée's brother so I gotta be nice, right?

Monica is loving her sailing experience. We're loving Monica. Mike and the last coke, not so much.

We sail 4 hours around the top of Kalymnos in a pretty stiff head wind. We turn the corner expecting a brisk sail south to the little town of Emborios. Wind dies and we motor in. Time to dive in the sea, that's pretty good form on the swan dive right there by Cap'n Jim of Jungle's pilot house roof.

Good form by Mike.

Oh Gee. Another spectacular view. They seem to keep getting better.

You sail in from a distance and don't fully appreciate the beauty until you get close up.

This mountain view is quite impressive.

It's cocktail hour and Mike is taking in the sights. I'm doing my best to help build up his confidence. Great kid, just different looking. All I'm saying.

There's a perfect picture.

And another. Quality time with Grand-pa-pa.

And yet another view of Vorio Bay and of course Monica.

To anyone considering coming to the Greek Islands, but may be concerned about the Greek economy - Please come! The people are wonderful, the sights are incredible, and it is safe as can be. Definitely come visit and island hop.

Jungle at rest - on right.

There is Mike looking at Jungle.

A view towards Jungle from the taverna Nikolas.

We tied off on a mooring in the bay. The mooring had taverna Nikolas name on it and the polite thing to do is go get a drink, food, something at the restaurant. It was quite a hke up but we were not disappointed.

Then we stroll into town and find Harry's Bar, a very nice place for dinner in a neat, well kept garden. We even got more Gardenias. I'm on the phone wishing my Mom happy 86 birthday. I got a "I love ya dah-Lin" in return from my Boston Mom. She's the best.

Time to dinghy back after another great day. That's the moon via slow exposure.
